What was the outcome?
As a result of many team meetings and planning, we decided to scrap TypeScript and opt for JavaScript. We found that TypeScript should be compiled over to JS in a production environment anyways so we would simply be removing a middle step. Some of the developers also have some experience in JS and utilizing JS allows us to move more smoothly from development to production especially when connected with a database and wrapped in docker.
