Item Crafting
The rough idea so far is to remove salvaging. What I'm gonna do with the current salvage materials I'm not entirely sure yet (but I do have a few ideas).
I'm going to add a dozen or so new essences though which will be used as the main currency in PoE.
Essences will be used to craft items (instead of the current augmenting system which will instead become an enchanting system which you can use to add specific stats to gear. You'll still be able to augment multiple times but the amount you add will be less with every augment. Will probably use values as in #103 (closed)
As for the essences, this is obviously very much a copy of how PoE does it and as such, I'll list PoE orbs first. After that, we can decide if and how we want to modify the system to be more unique to IWD. (I'll only include the relevant PoE orbs here).
Armorer's Scrap: Adds more armor to an item (Increases quality)
Blacksmith's Whetstone: Adds more base damage to a weapon (Increases quality)
Blessed Orb: Rerolls the numeric value of an item's implicit stats
Chaos Orb: Rerolls a rare item
Divine Orb: Rerolls the numeric values of an item's random stats
Exalted Orb: Adds a random stat to a rare item
Gemcutter's Prism: Increases the quality of a skill or support gem
Mirror of Kalandra: Clones an item
Orb of Alchemy: Turns a common item into a rare one
Orb of Alteration: Rerolls a magic item
Orb of Augmentation: Adds a random stat to a magic item
Orb of Chance: Turns a common item into a magic, rare or unique one (smaller chance for rare and smallest for unique)
Orb of Scouring: Removes all stats from an item and turns it into a common item
Orb of Transmutation: Turns a common item into a rare one
Portal Scroll: Opens a portal that leads to the closest town
Regal Orb: Turns a magic item into a rare item
Scroll of Wisdom: Identifies an item
Vaal Orb: Corrupts an item (can't be crafted any more) and does one of a few different things to it
Additions to the PoE model that might be intersting:
Orb A: Rerolls the item type (Example: changing a `Leather Hood` into a `Cowl`)
Orb B: Rerolls an item slot (Example: changing a `Dagger` into a `Robe`)
Orb C: Upgrades a random stat on the item to the next tier. Top tier stats can't be chosen
Using orbs A and B will keep the original stats but reroll the values. In cases where there are properties that can't be present on the target item type, those stats will be lost. Obviously, the target type or slot will be random.
Something else we might consider:
Orb D: Increases the level of an item and rerolls it
We could do variations of this, with orbs of different rarities. Some of them would reduce the item rarity, some would keep the stats but reroll the numeric values, others would keep it the same and just increase the level, etc.
