Further troubleshooting ideas (will be edited):

    • One user reports networking issues. I wonder if I should test to see what causes this? This would inhibit multiplayer options, as one would not be able to play with someone else remotely.
    • It seems that several users download DLC WADs, which I do NOT recommend currently, as this usually is signed by another Wii or vWii console's keys; it can also be very large and difficult to install properly, even for the emuNAND method. However, the work pioneered by Larsenv and DarkMatterCore may change all that - once I can confirm that their software works, I may be able to add this info not only to this troubleshooting guide, but also to my RBC GitLab Wiki.
    • I don't do a lot with imports, but I may include importing songs from Guitar Hero and Phase Shift. Maybe. No guarantees, though.

If you came to this snippet for Rock Band on other platforms... I can not help you directly. Please go to this wiki page (dead link) for other places you can visit to ask Rock Band related questions.

If you came here for help on Guitar Hero, Just Dance, or other music games... THIS IS ONLY FOR ROCK BAND! You're in the wrong place. For Guitar Hero, you may want to try ScoreHero or GBAtemp. For hacking other games, just go to GBAtemp. For hacking smartphones, use XDA. For hanging up images of eleven-fingered Santa Clauses, have you tried staples? 😜

Hey not sure where to post this, as it isn't an issue necessarily, but when extracting songs from RB2 disc and reading/extracting with Arktool, we don't seem to get a songs.dta for any tracks. So I know you have the repo with some of .dta for RB2 songs, but for something like Pearl Jam - Alive, I am guessing we roll our own using the DLCTools.exe editor?

@kmarnold24 RBHP should have the DTAs for the songs that come off of specific discs, but in case they don't, you can make your own: https://gitlab.com/HarvHouHacker/rock-band-customs/-/wikis/Authoring-Guides/Create-Database-Files

It takes some know-how to do it from scratch, so if you can find the DTAs for the songs you want to add, then I recommend using those. If you have further problems, please open an issue.

I made some critical edits to this snippet. Links pointing to the old repo and dead wiki pages should be fixed now, plus I modified some wording for forum sites to accept this troubleshooting Snippet more freely. It should help with any DLC that you have downloaded, regardless of what kind. I still haven't covered WADs yet, though.

All references to RGW/C3 have been removed from this troubleshooting snippet. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Running the official Wii Shop channel generates shop.log/shopsetu.log on the hardware NAND even though the Wii Shop itself no longer works. Until I did this, importing customs and DLC failed for me on a fully factory-reset Wii for longer than I care to admit. I didn't realize that they were missing from the hardware NAND until I noticed they were missing on the dumped emuNAND.

@oznogon Yes, I've noticed this, too. I think it's programmed in the Wii NAND to automatically create those files.
