operation cancels while submitting many tags

when submitting tags for many entries, I get this error message:

initially it seemed to be whenever I tried submitting recording tags for about 500 files or more, but it's maybe not as simple? because I was able to submit for 1,800 files no problem (tho only across 20 or 30 releases the one time I tried)
