+# How to use Aristois with Modpacks

+Aristois is available for forge on 1.8.9 - 1.12.2 & 1.16.4. While it can work with modpacks, sometimes there are conflicts with other mods. These issues are *usually* easy to fix. See troubleshooting below.

+## How to Install to Forge (Regular Launcher)
+
+0. Download and install [Forge](http://files.minecraftforge.net).(Aristois doesn't come with it!)
+1. Open the Aristois [Installer](https://aristois.net/ui-installer/free).
+2. Choose your Minecraft version (same as forge version).
+3. Select "forge mod loader".
+4. Install.
+
+Now Aristois is in your /mods/ folder. It is called EMC.jar. Run your Forge profile in the launcher.
+
+## How to Install to Modpack (MultiMC)
+This assumes the modpack is already set up.
+
+1. Open the Aristois [Installer](https://aristois.net/ui-installer/free).
+2. Choose your Minecraft version (same as modpack).
+3. Select "forge mod loader", **not MultiMC**.
+4. Change the directory to your instances .minecraft folder. For example, `C:/Users/X/Desktop/MultiMC/instances/1.12.2-Modpack/.minecraft`.
+5. Install.
+
+Now Aristois (EMC.jar) should be inside of your instance mods folder.
+
+## How to Install to Modpack (Other Launcher)
+This assumes the modpack is already set up.
+
+1. Open the Aristois [Installer](https://aristois.net/ui-installer/free).
+2. Choose your Minecraft version (same as modpack).
+3. Select "forge mod loader".
+4. Set the directory to your modpack folder. For example, `C:/Users/X/Twitch/Minecraft/instances/RLCraft/`.
+5. Install.
+
+Now Aristois (EMC.jar) should be inside of your modpack folder.
+
+# Troubleshooting Issues
+## Crashes
+Forge crashes are bound to happen, especially with larger modpacks. Below is a list of mods that are known to cause crashes. If you have any of these mods, try removing them and see if the crash is fixed.
+
+- RandomPatches
+- VanillaFix
+- FireAndIce
+- Performant
+
+If the crash still occurs, please use our [Discord](https://aristois.net/discord) and upload your crash log so a staff member can take a look at it.
+
+## Freezing
+If the game freezes upon loading, it's possible that there is not enough RAM allocated to the profile. You can change this amount in the launcher, underneath the profile settings.
+
+If the game has enough RAM, but still freezes, try deleting `.minecraft/libraries/EMC/mcversion`. If it persists, it may be from a mod conflict, and you should use the Discord for assistance from our staff.
+
+## Uninstalling
+
+To remove Aristois from forge, or a modpack, simply delete `EMC.jar` from the mods folder. It may be located in a subfolder, such as `mods/1.12.2/EMC.jar`.
