NCP

Project information

NCP (Numerical Chemistry Portfolio) is a self-hosted learning platform for teaching numerical methods to chemistry students. Each course unit is a separate package that teachers can import, edit, version and activate on its own, without touching the platform. Every unit follows the RE:ABCD structure (Reactivate, Engage, Brief, Apply, Collaborate, Debrief) and pairs a full theory section with interactive labs, quizzes and chemistry examples. Students write, run and test real Python in the browser, including numpy and matplotlib graphs, through fill-in exercises, code puzzles built from blocks, and automatic tests that check both results and figures. Their commented code, results and reflections go into a personal portfolio, which is checked by a validator and then by peer and teacher review.
