display address book name in auto-complete search results
Created by: @michaelroland
Currently, auto-complete search results are highlighted in the address book color and have an icon indicating if the address book is a local or a remote one.
I would prefer if the auto-complete results would also display the address book name (and in the case of LDAP the address book comment). There are a few reasons in favor of this:
-
For LDAP address books the address book comment can be enriched with additional fields from the LDAP directory entry (e.g. a user ID). While this additional information should not be integrated in the display name (+ e-mail address) in order to avoid sending it in the message, it is helpful to identify users from the LDAP directory based on such additional entries.
-
Legacy Thunderbird address books and LDAP directories are not colorized and cannot easily be distinguished without showing the address book name.
-
For some users, accessibility may be an issue with the current color-only variant. For e.g. color blind, having the address book name in addition (or even instead of) the coloring would be helpful to identify the source of auto-complete results.
