Pixel 6a suddenly can't view all MP4 files or reply to texts

Device: Pixel 6a
CalyxOS version: 6.2.0

Brief description of the issue

After the update a couple of days ago, everything was fine, but suddenly, I can't view any MP4 files on my phone. The camera app shuts down as not responding. Same with the text app, when I try to send a text. WWW page loading is painfully slow also. I'm not sure if this is the CalyxOS update or something else like a bad memory chip in the phone.

Steps to reproduce

I had just taken a quick video, which I sent through a messaging app. Right after sending it, I went back into the gallary app and saw that all MP4 files were now showing as grey squares with no preview image. I can open them, but the video won't play. I just see a black screen. After this, I noticed the other issues like texting and slow loading web pages.
