Keyboard auto-deletes digits when typing a number

Summary

When typing a number with more than one digit and hitting the spacebar, the keyboard automatically deletes the last digit in the number. For instance typing "12" and then hitting space, turns the number into "1".

Details

It is fine if you do not hit space afterwards, for instance typing " 12." And ending with a period does not delete the last digit. You can also move the cursor to the number in a message and add the digit back in after typing out your message. The issue only occurs when hitting spacebar after a number with >1 digit.
