Support request: TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 (Model FF3D532G6000HC30DC01, AM5 platform)
Description:
Technical note:
On AM5 motherboards, DDR5 RGB control seems inaccessible to OpenRGB because the memory’s SPD/PMIC bus is not directly exposed to the OS I²C controller. This may require adding SMBus access through AMD’s AGESA or another low-level method. Posting this for visibility and to help with DDR5 + AM5 support development.
Hello!
I’d like to request support for TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 memory modules.
The DDR4 versions are already supported, but the DDR5 variants aren’t detected on AM5 platforms.
System details:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
-
RAM: 2 × 16 GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 6000 MHz
- Model: FF3D532G6000HC30DC01
- OS: Arch Linux
- OpenRGB version: 0.9 + (1.0 rc2)
Observed behavior:
- OpenRGB does not detect the DDR5 RGB modules.
- The RGB stays on the default motherboard pattern.
-
decode-dimmsandi2cdetectboth fail to locate SPD/EEPROM addresses.
Relevant output:
[i2c_smbus_linux] Failed to read i2c device PCI device ID decode-dimms: No EEPROM found (even with eeprom/at24/ee1004 modules)
i2c-0 through i2c-17 present (Synopsys + AMDGPU), but no devices respond on 0x50–0x57
Notes:
- DDR4 versions of T-Force Delta RGB are already listed as supported.
- This DDR5 model might need new SMBus/PMIC handling for RGB detection.
