Total System Freeze - Sapphire Radeon 9070 XT on Linux

With newer Linux kernels, these graphics cards are in theory able to be controlled from OpenRGB. It even actually worked for me once and I was able to control the lighting, but after rebooting, the entire system freezes as soon as OpenRGB tries to detect the GPU.

Other people have reported even less success - their system always freezes immediately.

My card is: Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Pure

Someone else reported the same issue with: Sapphire 9070 XT Nitro+

I am using Linux Mint with Linux kernel 6.15. The other person is on Arch.

I expect it to be straightforward to replicate with this card on Linux, but if more info is needed I'll be happy to share, just tell me what you need to know.
