can't retain rgb settings for G.Skill TridentZ ram after poweroff

Setting the led colour scheme under Ubuntu 19.04 with an MSI Mortar Arctic b350-m motherboard works fine, but if I power off the system, the ram goes back to the default demo mode lighting. How can I either set a scheme to auto load at boot, or be retained after poweroff? I'm using G.Skill TridentZ 16gb ram, btw. Thanks for a great tool!
