To customize the lights, click Customize from the list on the left, then click on a key in the keyboard shown on the right to either turn that key's LED off, or turn it on with the colour defined in the Color Pane area in the bottom-right.

No useful device capture info yet. I am on a Linux machine, so I will need to use my friend's computer in order to sniff the communication between the keyboard and the software with Wireshark. I will try to submit this information as soon as possible.
