[Bug Report] G502 Proteus Spectrum crashes OpenRGB 0.6 on startup

Description of Bug

According to the wiki, this mouse should be compatible, but when launching OpenRGB, the "detecting devices" progress bar gets to "Logitech G502 Wireless Gaming Mouse (wired)" at which point the app crashes with no error message.

Running the app from the terminal with --verbose --loglevel 6 gives the following output (the loglevel parameter doesn't seem to do anything, the output is the same with or without it):

Attempting to connect to local OpenRGB server.
Connection attempt failed

I tried unplugging all other RGB peripherals and the app still crashes even with just the mouse connected. Running as administrator makes no difference.

I can get the app to run by setting "Logitech G502 Wireless Gaming Mouse (wired)": false in OpenRGB.json and it works without issues with the other peripherals.

Hardware Configuration

  • Windows 10
  • Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum
  • HyperX Alloy Elite RGB
  • Razer Tartarus V2
  • MSI X570-A Pro
