Asus BIOS update including Aura Firmware update breaks openRGB

Motherboard Asus b550-i strix RAM is g.skill trident-z neo updated from Beta bios 1801 to production bios 1803

bios 1803 listed as including Asus Aura firmware update

After update, openRGB is still able to detect hardware, but is unable to control the ARGB header, and can only control one DIMM slot (of 2) per LED, cannot control any LED of second DIMM.

Haven't rolled back the bios update yet but this may explain several recent posts regarding problems on asus systems.
