BuildStream 1.2 Beta Release Announcement
Background
After the Feature freeze was announced, the Beta phase of the Release process starts. This Beta phase finishes with the release of BuildStream 1.2 Beta. The final task of such process is the BuildStream 1.2 Beta Release Announcement.
For this release, the only announcement will be done through the mailing list. In order to reach a wider audience to have the Beta version tested, we will use a web based announcement and social media communication for the next release.
Task description
The BuildStream 1.2 Beta Release Announcement implies the following tasks:

Create the communication. -
Review the communication by the Release manager. -
Send the communication through the community mailing list.
Communication description
The communication should include the following:

Link to the download page. Note: there is no Download page yet. -
Key features included: veru short description. -
Expectations from the release manager towards the developers during the Release Candidate phase. - what needs to be tested?
- How to communicate bugs?

Planned number of Release Candidates and dates for their releases - Will there be more than one Release Candidate?
- When will they be released? Any changed compared to the already communicated plan? If yes, why?
- What are the reasons for one or more RC?

Call for collaboration on testing.
Considerations for this release
- For this release, the Feature Freeze announcement and the BuildStream 1.2 Beta Release Announcement will be the done in the same communication, through the mailing list.
- BuildStream 1.2 Beta = BuildStream 1.1.5
