Disable round-tripping when element is not modified

Description

Ruamel changes some indentation when round tripping. So we disable writing on files unless they are changed.

This merge request, when approved, will close issue/bug: #470 (closed).

Ok, strange that this happened, but that code had a bit of a bumpy history.
