ProvenanceInformation has no attribute `toplevel`

trying to call scalar_at or mapping_at of a SequenceNode will produce an attribute error for toplevel in path = ["[{}]".format(p) for p in provenance.toplevel._find(self)] + ["[{}]".format(index)] on toplevel.
