Some downloads from gitlab.com in master not working but work in 1.4

Summary

In master branch, downloading for example https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/mirrors/tarball-lfs-mirror/raw/master/sourceforge_download/giflib/giflib-5.2.1.tar.gz

bst-1 branch works correctly.
