Manual download does not work when Aurora thinks it is up to date

When I want to manually download an apk from Google Play there is an option (menu - manual download) but when I do that with an app that is already up to date according to Google Play (just checking the version number) I can not do so.

This is not always the case: there are apps which I hand-compile but I also want the official apk that is distributed by Google Play. They have the same version number so Aurora thinks no update is necessary but I still want to download the Google Play edition.
