Update from list does not show error message

Description

I face issues with the update of Chrome and System WebView (already addressed in Troubleshooting Guide and issue #718 (closed)).

Actual Behaviour

When triggering the update from the list of available updates, the error message is not shown.
The button changes from Update to Install back to Update.

Expected Behaviour

Error message appears similar to the update triggered from the application view.

• OS: Stock ROM (so far without Google account)
