Ebay app no longer allows you to use the app if downloaded through Aurora Store
A few weeks ago, the eBay app would provide this error message immediately when trying to launch it after the latest update: "Something went wrong - Check that Google Play is enabled on your device and that you're using an up-to-date version before opening the app. If the problem persists try reinstalling the app." The app is unusable if you just close the pop-up error, then it will just close itself too.
So, I re-enabled Google Play store, and now it just launches Play Store a second after I launch the app, and it clearly wants me to log in to my Google Account and download the App from there. I tried to see if I could redirect the app to open Google Play Store links within eBay with Aurora instead, but it doesn't work either. It looks like eBay's app can now detect if you haven't gotten it directly from Google's Play Store, and it won't let you use it in that case. I'm unsure if this only affects Aurora Store or if it also affects versions gotten on APKMirror or what not. If this problem doesn't get solved soon, then it's only a matter of time before other app makers figure out how to lock you out of using them if they've been downloaded outside of Play Store.
The version of Aurora App Store I was using was 4.6.4 and I'm using Android 14 on a tablet if that matters.
