I'm wondering if support for temporal and spatial scalable video coding (SVC) is planned. I'm primarily interested in the support in the encoder, such that one is able to specify the number of temporal and spatial layers to encode and then is able to separately receive from the encoder the frames for each of the layers. Note that SVC is different from multi-resolution encoding, where you receive multiple encoded streams at different resolutions and bit rates. With SVC, there is one encoded stream, and that stream can be adapted to different bit rates by discarding higher layers.
