Encoder guide unclear

Newly approaching this encoder, and I'm reading the guide before attempting any encodes, but:

1. Rate Control Options: AdaptiveQuantization is stated to have a default value 0 but the description says it is 2, so which one is the default?
2. Encoder Global Options: HierarchicalLevels expects a range [3, 4] but the description seems to talk about 0 (this is the most obscure description, anyway).
