There are numerous solutions which are targeted at this issue and can easily provide a modern solution on top of docker/unraid/HA whatever. Take a look at authentik, Authelia and others. Along with a decent reverse proxy (traefic/nginx proxy manager) you can quickly setup something, which is GUI based as well. There are tones of guides.
