After all the steps, successfull, I get

    ➜ ~ fprintd-verify

Impossible to verify: GDBus.Error:net.reactivated.Fprint.Error.NoSuchDevice: No devices available

    ➜ ~ fprintd-enroll

Impossible to enroll: GDBus.Error:net.reactivated.Fprint.Error.NoSuchDevice: No devices available

I think this driver only works for the following models:

    • 27c6:538c
    • 27c6:533c
    • 27c6:530c
    • 27c6:5840

Unfortunately your model is not supported by this driver. I will update the installation guide with the supported models. There are efforts to get other models working as well. See https://discord.gg/6xZ6k34Vqg

  • @Ayamu Thanks a lot for this! It works perfectly on my Dell Precision 5560. However, I also had to install the libgudev-devel package as I was getting the following error at the meson compile stage:

meson.build:228:12: ERROR: Problem encountered: udev is required for SPI support
  • @ayoisaiah you will need to run the following to fix that: sudo dnf install systemd-devel libgudev1-devel

Does this work for Fedora 38?

  • No, extra on work on Fedora Linux 39 (Workstation Edition). It worked out of the box on Dell Precision 5560 27c6:63ac. All components were pre-installed libfprint-1.94.5-3.fc39, fprintd-1.94.2-8.fc39. Had an issues as I previously used the fingerprint reader in another OS - there were enrolled fingers. Initially fp was getting enrolled okay, but removed due to error after verification. Had to remove all old data in the sensor this worked Benjamin's script - thanks!!
